Deidesheimer Kieselberg
Individual vineyard – 15.51 hectares
Altitude: 150-160 meters AMSL
Incline: 100 % flat
Soil quality: loam/loamy sand, interspersed with limestone shingle, in places weathered limestone soil, very changeable.
The name, which in German means ‘gravel hill’, originates from the quality of the local soil (gravel, coarse-grained sand). The minerality of the gravel and its heat retention qualities are the basis for excellent wines.
