Pinot Gris (Grauburgunder)
Sometimes, this grape variety is sometimes also called Ruländer. It is probably the result of a bud mutation of Pinot Noir (Blauer Burgunder). It is believed to originate from Burgundy. A merchant called Johann Ruland from the German town of Speyer discovered the grape in his garden and passed it on to others. This variety prefers good but not overly hot locations with deep strong soil. This is how we produce a dry and elegant wine with the full bouquet that is characteristic of this grape variety.
